The Northern Kentucky Herb Society (NKHS) was formed in 2004 as a non-profit educational forum for residents of Northern Kentucky interested in any aspect of herbs. This includes herb history, folklore, and cultivation as well as their use in medicine, cosmetics, crafts, and cooking. Our monthly meetings offer presentations and discussions of the characteristics and uses of herbs that often involve tastings, hands-on cooking demonstrations, or hand-made craft projects. We also host informational special events and service projects in conjunction with other local groups. |

Our longest on-going community project is rehabilitating and maintaining the herb gardens at the historic Dinsmore Homestead in Burlington, Kentucky. Each winter, we also decorate the Dinsmore Homestead's 1800 settlers' cabin for the annual "Christmas in the Country" celebration.
Our calendar page provides more information about what's coming up and what we've recently done. Whether you're interested in just one topic or are a prospective member, we'd love to have you attend one or more meetings as our guest and learn more about us. We are also very proud of Herbs & Spices Make Everything Nice, the cookbook we published a few years ago, and would love to share a copy with you. NKHS membership is open to herb lovers of all ages and does not require that you have any previous knowledge of herbs. Dues are $15 per year. | |
